Quality inflatables exist mostly in highly technical industries, and those available to consumers are primarily cheap, synthetic materials. To bridge the gap between quality and consumer within the inflatables industry, Couasnon and Avon use natural latex and organic textile fibers as air vessels, expanding the tactile experience of inflatable furniture. “Hollow” is an inflatable table with 8 pressure valves, each responsible for individual air vessels on the surface, inviting users to modify the surfaces three-dimensionally, valuing air as a construction material.
